| Customer Reviews: Some of the worst sounds I have ever heard March 1, 2010 SteveVA (Virginia) I am a big Shooter fan - I love "Put The O Back in Country," "The Wolf," and "Electric Rodeo."
I am hoping against hope that this awful track is not indicative of what is on the new album. Wow. This is bad. No...bad falls short.
Shooter Rocks Out February 28, 2010 David Prochnow (Reston, VA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
There is nothing country about this song, so country fans may be disappointed. On the other hand, rock fans will enjoy it. This particular track, off of the soon-to-be-released "Black Ribbons" album, is good, solid, progressive rock. If I'd heard this without knowing the artist, I would have probably guessed it was Muse, which of course is a far cry from the country rock that Shooter has done in the past.
No preconceived expectations February 24, 2010 imacfrog 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Having never heard the group Shooter Jennings & Hierphant before, I found this cut very much to my liking. As the reviewer S. Lennox stated it definitely has Floyd like overtones which would make a fan of them enjoy this single. If I had expectations of something country rockish, I could see how this would totally be quite a let down. Lucky for me, I had no preconceived expectations thus have added an excellent recording to my library.
Quite a departure, but actually pretty decent February 23, 2010 S. Lennox (New York) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I can totally understand Shooter Jennings's fans being a bit bewildered by this song, the style is nothing like his country-rock sound. It seems to have a distinct Pink Floyd influence with some very dark lyrics and some pretty heavy guitars to boot. But overall it's not bad, it's growing on me with each listen; besides it's a free download so you can't say you wasted your money, only maybe your time...
Awful! February 23, 2010 Tone Dagger (Georgia US) 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
Don't waste your time. This song is annoyingly repetitive with nothing interesting, musically or lyrically. Yuk!
